I left school after my 'A' Levels as I was about to marry and needed a job. I chose to join the
financial services industry and spent 22 years in it. Initially, I worked as an underwriter for a motor insurer. But, after 2 years, I realised this wasn’t for me.
Thankfully, I discovered the investment advisory services side of the business. This led
me to joining a mutual fund manager and with their help I eventually became a Chartered
Financial Planner. This allowed me to join a small boutique firm of independent financial
advisers serving corporate and high net worth clients.
In the late 80”s I was recruited to help a major UK bank set up a new investment advisory
business. I stayed with them throughout the 90’s and was fortunate enough to work in a
variety of different divisions and privileged to lead a variety of regional, national and
international teams.
Along the way I discovered the rewards of helping others achieve challenging things so I
switched careers again and joined the Learning & Development industry. For the past 20
years I have been facilitating leadership development workshops for large multi-national
clients across South East Asia.
Having reached 60 I’m moving on again for the 3rd and final phase of life. This will see me
fusing the previous 2 phases together and to design, develop and deliver experiential events that will help ‘kids of all ages’ transition through the various phases of their life so that they can not only be the best version of themselves as they can be but also create a lasting and inspiring legacy for them and their future generations.
As a result, I’m as stimulated and excited about work as I was on my 1st day in 1978.

Loius Chan

Occupation : Entrepreneur
Hi, my name is Loius Chan. Why it is Loius but not Louis although it is the same pronunciation, I want to be unique in the way that I am different to other, at least in term of name. I am a 30 years old guy, fortunate enough to further study my master degree in the United Kingdom. It gives me the chance to travel to different countries around the world and expand my knowledge by meeting with different people, and most importantly, see life in a totally different way. However, unfortunately too, I was admitted to Tan Tock Seng Hospital for 2 weeks and stayed in ICU for more than 3 days. It was a terrible experience which I contracted dengue and virus infection from a business trip to Maldives. It put my life under risk because the virus was so rare to a level that even doctors cannot explain about it. Not even a single dengue patient before can be as severe as me. This experience again, gives me a brand new perspective of life.

In addition, after being discharged from hospital, my wish to restarting my normal life was again hammered by my previous employer who didn't pay me the salary for 1 year. In the end, many people questioned my loyalty however I still believe I made a correct decision because it made me into a better person.

All these experiences have given me a brand new perspective about life and fully understand the meaning of YOLO. I decided to venture into entrepreneurship and major in digital marketing, with mentor-ship guidance from a reputable mentor of mine. Since then, I have been giving coaching and advice to the people who needs direction. I believe the greatest satisfaction is not about the amount of money earned, but the number of people we have helped. Keep in touch.
