Occupation : Business owner / Director

I have great empathy for people, especially youths, because they are the future and leaders of the next generation. A keen learner of lifeskills, I have brought a few of my hobbies up to professional instructor level, such as photography, yoga, freediving, scuba diving etc. In teaching, I learn more. With close to 20 years' of experience in the travel, leisure and media industries, I would like to share my experiences and mistakes with the next generation of professionals in these industries. In 2020, I have founded 10:10 Media Productions Pte Ltd as a non-profit media production social enterprise to train ex-offenders into media professionals and technical crew on film production sets. With IHL volunteers in my social enterprise, I hope to guide them better in their path of life and early career development.

6i Communication, Andy Schmidt
Andy Schmidt 6i Communication
Occupation : Business owner / Director
Industries : Consulting , Human Resource , Services
I left my corporate job after 23 years with the same organization because my employee engagement was off the charts (to the bottom left of it). I am not alone. A quick glance at employee engagement statistics points to a crisis of epic proportions at workplaces everywhere. People performing well below their capabilities inhibiting the organization's performance and resulting in high attrition rates.

I believe people should be happy and engaged at work and have all the tools they need to perform their jobs at the highest level.

Inclusive communication is key. Most businesses struggle to communicate with their frontline workers. We close those internal communication gaps for full alignment all-around and better business results in your hands.

I am looking for a "reverse mentor", meaning someone who is from a younger generation, a digital native who grew up with IT, Social Marketing, Inbound Marketing and Online B2B-business.

I do have lots to learn in that area for my business and a mentor with some hands-on experience in those areas would be mega-beneficial to me

Alice Ho
Occupation : Business owner / Director
Industries : Healthcare , Other , Retail , Technology
Alice has 23 years of experience in the customer service domain. Companies she has worked for included P&G, LVMH, Xilinx, Siemens Medical and Elsevier to name a few.

Building teams from scratch in various countries, setting up a Center of Excellence in the Philippines, re-structuring defunct teams and making them the best teams ever, being the #4 employee of a US start-up in Singapore and flying around Asia offices making people redundant (which doesn’t spark joy). She prefers to term them as the 1st half of her career.

Alice is now building the 2nd half of her career in the Netherlands and is a quasi-social entrepreneur. Her goal is to combine her passion in helping others that aligns with her life purpose. For example, she is mentoring a final year student from her alumni NUS and is also a mentor for WeDu under the US-Asean Women’s leadership academy for future female changemakers in the human rights sector.

At the same time, she is in the midst of being a trainer and community builder through storytelling with the Living Library Center in Amsterdam. It is a program by EU to support education, training, youth and sport in Europe.

Alice is also the founder of the Netherlands Professional Asian women’s group where she believes that Asian women are often under-represented in the western world and wants to change that. For leisure, she has this lofty idea to introduce to her local community the yummy world of Singapore/Asia food. As such, she has a home business that sells a weekly dish to her neighbourhood. It gives her great joy when seeing her customers enjoy her cooking but most importantly making these new connections.

I relocated to Singapore in 1999 and have since been involved in various roles focused on Nokia’s networks business in several markets across the Asia Pacific region. I have also worked in: Indonesia (5 years) where I was head of Nokia’s networks business for the country; and Munich where I was head of global operations for Nokia Networks Training and Development (Academy). Since leaving my corporate roles 10 years ago, I have worked as an entrepreneur, co-founding an EdTech start-up with operations in Singapore and Indonesia that has focused on being a quality service provider. Given my continual interest in learning, I have periodically provided business consulting services on an independent basis to various entities seeking to expand into new markets.
