Boon Leng was a seasoned banking professional with over 30 years of experience in business, finance, risk and governance in Corporate Banking, Investment Banking and Consumer Banking at the country, regional and global levels. He held various leadership roles in large international financial institutions such as Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Bank, Citibank, Barclays Capital, Standard Chartered bank and United Overseas Bank.

In his role as Head of Group Operational Risk Management at UOB, Boon Leng spearheaded the transformation of operational risk practices and implemented the GRC system throughout the franchise. He actively contributed his expertise to several risk committees of the Group overseeing key processes that form the Bank's operational risk governance framework. He also served as Chairman and member of the ABS Outsourving Advisory Committee providing guidance and advisory to member banks, outsourced service providers and external auditors.

He was awarded the IBF Fellowship award for Risk Management by the Institute of Banking and Finance Singapore and served as a member of the Board of Directors of Deutsche Futures Pte. Ltd and the Operational RiskData eXchange Association (ORX Switzerland). Boon Leng is a Senior Advisor with Singapore Consultancy.

Having started up in different industries and connected to the entrepreneurial scene for years, Wei Liang brings back his knowledge to the community, assisting and mentoring potential entrepreneurs. Currently with the Singapore University of Social Sciences, Wei Liang helps students entrepreneurs apply tools like the lean startup methodology and javelin board to validate their startup ideas. Wei Liang works closely with partners, from Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines and Cambodia to run the Impact Startup Challenge for both local and international participants. In 2020, Wei Liang led and ran the Gig Economy Series in the university, bringing together trainers form Creatives at Work, Facebook, Google and Nas Academy to equip students with skillsets in digital marketing, e-commerce and freelancing. He is also a mentor with the SUSS Social Entrepreneurship interest group.

On the side, Wei Liang serves on the Executive Committee of Social Impact Catalyst, Singapore’s first youth-centric organisation focused on social entrepreneurship and innovation. Heading the ecosystem initiative, he leads partnerships and collaborations for the organisation. He also mentors and advises aspiring social entrepreneurs.

Wei Liang was also part of the Executive Team in EDGE, the youth arm of Action Community of Entrepreneurship, heading the operations and lead multiple entrepreneurial events. With his commitment to the entrepreneurial scene, he was awarded the National Youth Entreprenuership Award in 2017.

Having a childhood in one of the last few kampungs in Singapore, Kian Beng values simplicity in his life. A volunteer at heart, Kian Beng has been volunteering in various areas for the past 20 years; mentoring disadvantaged youths, seniors, sharing photography with special needs individuals, facilitating conversations, and more recently on food loss issues. Kian Beng believes that having authentic conversations in our daily lives is important in the forging of meaningful relationships, both with others and more importantly with our inner-self. A firm believer of conscious reflection, he has since gone into motivating others around him to explore into various triggering modes of service cum learning.

In the social sector, Kian Beng has been an passionate and active volunteer for more than 15 years and conducted numerous trainings for volunteers. His experience includes facilitation of group discussions & conversations and designing of training materials for volunteers.

I was selected as the Intra-fish “40 under 40 Future Seafood Leader” in 2016, thanks to the projects of sustainable shrimp farming and supply chain, working with IDH and WWF, which made QV Seafood became the 1st company in Asia certified, and joining many other sustainable, CSR and environmental projects in Vietnam and Southeast Asia.

I was invited to attend Roundtable with Former Secretary of State John Kerry at Seafood Expo North America to discuss Sustainable Aquaculture.

And I was invited to participate and speak at the Shrimp School in University of North Carolina - Coastal Studies Institute, organized by US National Fisheries Institute.
