25+ years of international experience, track record in profit growth under various corporate governance structures including those of a listed company, joint ventures and my own consulting company.
Thorough understanding and hands on experience of General P&L Management, Team Management and Business Development across the larger APAC region.
I started my career as a farm hand and bulldozer operator in Canada where I migrated as a teenager, whilst working on the ice-pack in Alaska, I was offered a mechanic position on an oil exploration vessel, this led to installing and commissioning US research equipment onboard Russian oil exploration vessels during the later parts of the Cold War. I arrived Singapore onboard one of these research vessels and was offered an expatriate position as technical manager for an Oil exploration company. A switch of company opened my career horizon and allowed me to develop my proficiency to the extent I was selected to lead the company business in APAC. The following years saw the region profitable growth and reach expand exponentially; culminating with the creation of a very profitable new ventures business line. Having left the company I created my own advisory and consulting company working standalone or teaming up with major consulting firms.
Having left corporate the opportunities to mentor are reduced. I have a genuine desire to contribute my insight and experience to others. In my somewhat unusual journey, I rose through the ranks in constant transition and change. As a leader all my achievements came from trusting my intuition and vision and especially empowering every individual in my team. Knowing what I did not know allowed me to accept expertise and help people grow into their own mastery. I feel that heartfelt and balanced decisions, responsible, open and resilient leadership are particularly relevant but hard to achieve in the current insecure business climate other than with mentoring.

Rachel Loke has a good blend of being an entrepreneur where she ran her own communications agency, and working in a corporate matrix environment where she had built new teams across the region. Over the years, she has had extensive experience advising corporate CEOs on internal and external communications and marketing strategies. Some of these firms include Infineon Technologies, Hewlett Packard, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Knight Frank.

Rachel had managed C-suite client events and trade events held in Germany, Spain, the United States and most parts of Asia. Such events demanded stringent, flawless protocols and complex communications both internally and externally.

Rachel was invited to be one of the judges for PR Awards 2019. The experience had propelled her to pen down the insights gleaned as she reviewed the multiple entries (click here to read). She also spoke at the PR Asia 2018 Conference covering the topic “Content is still king”. Providing media training has also been a major part of her career. She had facilitated media trainings spanning across newswires, print and broadcast media for key spokespersons.

As a lifelong hobby, Rachel is zealous about Pilates and how sportsmanship correlates with boardroom management. Rachel is a certified Matwork and Reformer Pilates instructor. She has a strong interest in rehabilitative Pilates programme, particularly so as she has experienced first hand how Pilates has helped her in her post-op recovery. I was a trained primary school teacher, specializing in helping children with special learning needs which include autism, ADHD, mentally challenged. I learned that parents of these group of children need more help especially some one who could understand and listen to them.

As my own child has some learning issues when she was young, I understood perfectly what a parent in singapore will go through and feel when his child prepares for PSLE etc.

Sometimes, these parents just need an outlet to express their feeling or someone who could provide that support.

I believe with the many years of experience I have gone through, I can do the job of helping these parents especially from SPARK ( singapore) well.
