The key focus of mentoring is to help another individual improve performance and productivity, enhance learning and growth, to achieve  deep human potential.   The AIM Train-The-Mentor (TTM) program is part of a broader strategy to raise the quality of mentoring and bring mentoring to the forefront of personal growth and career development through a formalized training process. 


Programs

We have created a structured mentoring curriculum with a focus on environmental variables including the psychology of the mentor and mentee, the intention of the mentor and support systems, using a holistic approach that addresses the Heart, Mind, Spirit with Self-Awareness & Self-Mastery as the foundation for mentoring, augmented by skills & technique and special tailored electives.


Train-The-Mentor (TTM) Program

The TTM Program is AIM’s signature 2-day mentor training program to provide a solid foundation in the art and science of mentoring.

Key Learning Outcomes

  • Understand the differences between mentoring and coaching

  • Acquire core mentoring skills, knowledge and attitudes

  • Become more self-aware - the foundation to be a more effective leader in all aspects of life

  • Take better care of yourself; fill your own cup so that you can better fill others' cups

  • Bring mindfulness as a daily practice in work and life - to create a more meaningful and compassionate life

  • Establish a consistent and sustainable mentoring ecosystem by:

    • Utilizing mentoring frameworks, models and techniques;

Method of Instruction

This is a hands-on interactive program which uses various formats for required core skills practice:

  • Facilitation and knowledge and skills transfer through blended learning; 

  • Skills acquisition and practise; 

  • Role plays, interactive group simulations, discussions and presentations; 

  • Case studies, simulations, pre-work and post-work;

  • Post on-the-job-assessment and grading; mentorship program assessment and evaluation.


Train-The-Mentor (TTM) Foundational Program

The TTM Foundational Program is AIM’s 1-day introduction to the art and science of mentoring, with a focus on the theoretic framework supplemented by classroom discussions and hands-on exercises.

Key Learning Outcomes

  • Acquire foundational mentoring skills, knowledge and attitudes.

  • Establish a consistent and sustainable mentoring ecosystem by:

  • Utilizing mentoring frameworks, models and techniques;

  • Addressing issues and challenges arising from mentoring;

  • Acquiring some relevant “hard skills” (frameworks, models, techniques and tools), also “soft skills” (self-awareness, self-actualization, mastery, etc.) to improve the mentoring process;

  • Avoiding common mistakes and gotchas by applying your mentoring skills (listening, questioning, feedback and handling objections).

Certified Professional Mentor (CPM) Program

The key focus of mentoring is to help another individual improve performance and productivity, enhance learning and growth, to achieve  deep human potential.   The AIM Certified-Professional-Mentor (CPM) program is part of a broader strategy to raise the quality and standards in mentoring, and bring mentoring to the forefront of personal growth and career development through a formalized training and certification process. 

 

Cultivating a community of qualified mentors allows for scalable positive impact and outcomes in the community at large. Through the CPM program, we aim to develop a community of professional mentors based on: a consistent learning and sharing platform, a dynamic curriculum and program with robust foundational units and specialized electives tailored to specific mentoring outcomes.

 

The CPM Program is AIM’s flagship 4-day intensive holistic mentor training program to provide a solid foundation in the art and science of mentoring, plus practical knowledge in advanced mentoring skills steeped in  Mentoring: The AIM Way . The outcome is  certification as an AIM  Certified-Professional-Mentor .

Who Can Apply

The CPM program is for individuals who aspire to be a mentor or have personally benefited from mentoring, a desire to contribute to other’s growth and success through mentoring, commit to continuing development in themselves, willing to pay it forward by serving two or more cycles as mentors, and who see mentoring as a life-long journey.

Eligibility: Minimum 5 years professional work experience.
