Synopsis

We live in an increasingly volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous (VUCA) world. The only constant is change. We also live in a time where our planet, our world, faces many unprecedented challenges, with overpopulation, violence, conflicts, increasing inequality, environmental degradation, and global warming. We face an epidemic of diseases of the modernized society, diseases of the body and the mind, with chronic anxiety, stress, depression even suicide on the rise, especially among the young.

The future is indeed more chaotic and unpredictable than ever. It will require a bold vision, heightened imagination, elevated empathy, collective resilience, and an entrepreneurial mindset. It belongs to those with the essential skills of creativity, innovation, critical thinking, resilience and collaboration - to imagine, design, build, mobilize, and bring into existence solutions that can contribute to solving some of the world’s greatest challenges

For over a decade, she has been recognized for her 21st Century parenting model which advocates different types of authority models to stay relevant in today's dynamic digital landscape. As modern parents introduce expert and charismatic authority, each experiences significant, permanent shifts in their relationship with their child, for a deeper connection.

A Conscious parenting coach, she empowers parents to reflect on their inner triggers, which opens up safe spaces for every child to truly be accepted for their uniqueness instead of becoming a mold of what parents expect.

Pauline Phoon is the Founder of SOOS OIO LLP and COMEBACK PTE LTD.

SOOS OIO LLP is a social enterprise that develops youth holistically through communities in our fast-evolving world. While SOOS OIO is gaining momentum in building communities among gamers, the need for a deeper program for youths who have lost life balance in games became apparent. Deeply concerned about this rising trend, COMEBACK was started to provide professional help to gamers who experienced various disruptions in life due to game dependency. 

Pauline co-authored an ebook titled “Understanding Games and Gamers” with Ruth Lim that is available for free download.

Laurence Lien is Co-Founder and Founding CEO of the Asia Philanthropy Circle.

Laurence is also the Chairman of Lien Foundation, a family foundation established in 1980, that has become well-regarded for its forward-thinking and radical approach in the fields of education, eldercare and the environment, as well as the Chairman of Lien AID, the foundation’s humanitarian arm.

Laurence was the CEO of the National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre in Singapore from 2008-2014. In 2008, he founded the Community Foundation of Singapore and was its Chairman from 2013-2019. He is also a Board Member of the Lien Centre for Social Innovation at the Singapore Management University.

Prior to his work in the non-profit sector, Laurence served in the Singapore Administrative Service, which forms the top echelon of public service leaders in Singapore. Laurence holds degrees from Oxford University, the National University of Singapore, and Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government. In 2010, Laurence was awarded the Eisenhower Fellowship. He was also a Nominated Member of Parliament in Singapore from 2012-2014.

Ashokan Ramakrishnan heads the Smart Metering business at iWOW, an IoT technology provider that helps businesses uncover unconscious waste in their utility consumption. He is deeply concerned about climate change and believes that businesses must play a key part in creating a more sustainable future. In his spare time, he serves on the Executive Committee of the Mother Earth Toastmasters, a non-profit that helps eco-ambassadors hone their communication skills so that they can inspire communities to take climate action.

Ashokan also serves as the Honorary Secretary of SPARK, a local charity that supports those with ADHD and their families thrive. And most recently, he was elected as the Honorary Treasurer of A GOOD SPACE, which is Singapore’s first and only cooperative for changemakers and social entrepreneurs.  But the role that he is most passionate about, is that of a parent. This is the role that he was least prepared for and the one that he has grown the most in.

Yen-Lu Chow is the Co-Founder & Executive Chairman, WholeTree FoundationOver-The-Rainbow and Asia Institute of Mentoring; Founding Partner, Fatfish MediaLab; Executive Mentor, YSI SEA; and Founder of the Deep Human Movement

Yen-Lu’s career spans nearly 40 years in the tech, media, venture capital, and more recently social entrepreneurship and philanthropy. 

As the co-founder of the Over-The-Rainbow youth mental wellness initiative, Yen-Lu understands the importance of mental wellness as a life priority and has given numerous talks and been featured frequently in the media. He believes every young person has a voice, an innate gift, a deeply held aspiration waiting to find creative fulfillment. When we nurture the seeds of these innate gifts with attention, acceptance, and love – by providing the right environment, and giving it purpose – these seeds sprout and grow, and the human spirit with its deepest aspirations finds fulfillment.

In a fast-paced world where the only constant is change, he believes there is an urgent need for each of us to draw on our strengths and creative potential as human beings, to connect with our higher self and our deeper purpose to contribute towards humanity in a positive and impactful way. He enjoys building ecosystems and mobilizing the community to create positive social change. He is on a life mission to help bring about a kinder, gentler, more inclusive, more just, and sustainable world.
