Dr. James Ong

Founder and Managing Director, Artificial Intelligence International Institute (AIII)

Dr. James Ong has 38+ years of experience as an entrepreneur, tech executive, venture builder, author and professor and enjoys his journey of ecosystem building for impactful outcomes, bridging scientific research, startups, and impact investment.

He founded Artificial Intelligence International Institute (AIII), a think tank advocating Sustainable AI for Humanity and is co-author of “AI for Humanity: Building A Sustainable AI for the Future” (ISBN: 9781394180301) published by Wiley.

He is Adjunct Professor at SUTD and AI Mega Centre, a member of the National Supercomputing Centre Singapore (NSCC)’s new Strategic Resource Allocation Committee (SRAC) and Head of AI, Chair of AI Subcommittee and Professional Council Member at Global Fintech Institute (GFI). He is also CEO of Origami Frontiers, a venture building firm, Venture Partner at Delight Capital and Partner at Hashtaqs.

James is active in the AI ecosystem globally as co-founder of the inaugural AIMX world summit 2023 in Singapore advocating for AI4Good and AI Governance and also Tech4SDG Alliance for Asia, as International Advisor for World AI Conference (WAIC) and as Industry Co-Chair for IEEE CAI (Conference on AI) 2024 and has also participated and collaborated with UNIDO and UNU at Macau.

James started his career as an AI scientist in 1986 at leading US MCC research lab on advanced AI Fifth Generation Computer research and was one of the pioneer senior executives at Trilogy, an AI pioneer and enterprise software startup. He received his PhD from University of Texas at Austin specializing in AI for Governance and Business Process Automation.

Chairman, Group CEO and Founder at SGP Foods

Yun Ning is the Chairman, CEO & Founder of SGP Foods. She has been leading multiple sustainability and technology initiatives, including running her conglomerate; and AI initiatives such as innovation projects in various industry contexts; as well as her own Master’s dissertation.

She is experienced with the intersection between Sustainability and AI; being able to seamlessly and accurately identify areas that they merge. This is particularly imperative as SGP Foods is a resource efficiency technology company that develops proprietary technology and processes to combat the most pressing problems in food & climate.

Sustainability underpins traditional businesses too; that’s why the transformation of trade and traditional agriculture is also a crucial part of her agenda. Transforming trade and industries while taking care of the climate is her go-to mantra.

Sudhir Tiku

Vice President for Asia Pacific and China at Bosch Singapore | Technical Philosopher, automation expert, Technologist, and a Certified Futurist, based out of Singapore

Sudhir is a Technical Philosopher, automation expert, Technologist, and a Certified Futurist, based out of Singapore. For work, he is Vice President for Asia Pacific and China at Bosch Singapore. Sudhir has over two decades of diverse Experience in the Automation Industry and joined Bosch from GE, where he held a senior Management role and handled a large Portfolio of Detection and Automation products. Prior to GE, he worked at Tyco Corporation USA and Tata Honeywell and held various leadership roles across territories. His interest is Computer Vision and visual analytics.

Sudhir Tiku has an engineering degree in Electronics and a masters in diverse subjects like Finance and Ethics. He is member of IEEE Singapore on standardization and also a badge holder of AI Ethics from London School of Economics. He is a regular at TEDx circles in Asia Pacific on topics of AI and its impact on humanity. He is an acclaimed author and a passionate climber.

Nishima is a competition and regulation specialist with international experience. She has advised tech companies, central banks and international organisations like World Bank and OECD in the areas of digital finance, digital trade, data governance, e-commerce and logistics.

Nimisha is passionate about developing the next generation of leaders and mentors young female professionals and university students with career planning.  As a mentor for the NexGen Keynote Women Speakers programme, she has supported talented women to make impactful speeches on stage by drawing on her work experience at consulting firms and government agencies in UK, New Zealand, Singapore and Australia (secondment).

Yen-Lu’s career spans nearly 40 years in the tech, media, venture capital, and more recently social entrepreneurship and philanthropy. A former Apple Distinguished Technologist, he is a successful entrepreneur with multiple tech start-ups and an active angel investor, spending many years mentoring and advising entrepreneurs, young businesses and serving on government panels on innovation. He served as a director of Business Angel Network SEA, executive mentor and adjunct professor to NUS Enterprise, mentor to INSEAD, numerous panels on entrepreneurship and innovation internationally, including IDA / SPRING, A*STAR, NRF, GMIC, NUS StartUp@Singapore, NUS Social Venture Competition, NTU Idea Inc, Thailand National Business Plan Competition, CrowdSourcing Week, etc. 

In a fast-paced world where the only constant is change, he believes there is an urgent need for each of us to draw on our strengths and creative potential as human beings, to connect with our higher self and our deeper purpose to contribute towards humanity in a positive and impactful way. He enjoys building ecosystems and mobilizing the community to create positive social change. As an early pioneer in the application of AI, he also has a strong base in the tech space. With the launch of his family foundation and other social impact initiatives, Yen-Lu devotes his time serving both society and the nation in his various capacities.

He is on a life mission to help bring about a kinder, gentler, more inclusive, more just, and sustainable world.
