Established in 2007, Asia Pacific Alliance of Coaches (APAC) aims to be the Coaching Voice of Asia Pacific and bring the power and value of coaching to every workplace and home. With coaches representing more than 20 countries, we bring diverse backgrounds and multicultural uniqueness as we collaborate to reach new heights in coaching professionalism. Over the 17 years, APAC has shared the gift of coaching with social service agencies, communities, and schools through pro bono coaching. Our ongoing APAC Research continues to explore and deep dive into the cultural, geopolitical and economic nuances of this region as applicable to coaching. We have conducted the Asia Coaching Benchmark and Future of Coaching surveys to keep pace with coaching trends. Our monthly webinars and peer coaching practices led by master coaches, and our quarterly newsletters, “APAC Voice”, help us to keep pace with the evolution and standards of coaching. Uma Arora

Leadership Coach | Behavioral Scientist

Uma Arora works with individuals and enterprises helping build leadership capacity, enabling transformation and enhancing performance of individuals and groups. She brings in a multidisciplinary approach to coaching by blending her business operations experience with her knowledge and training as a behavioral Scientist and systems Coach.  She works with startup founders helping them in the journey of scaling the organizations by scaling their inner journey and that of their teams. Uma has the academic background of M.B.A. LLB, and master’s in science.  She has done several certifications from National Training Laboratory, US, Centre for Creative Leadership, Gallup, and other related disciplines about the field of coaching, behavior science and OD.  Uma is the founder of Idam Learning, an India based Coaching firm and past President of Asia Pacific Alliance of Coaches.

Uma sees herself as a lifelong learning enthusiast and a change catalyst.  She believes in deepening her inner journey of awareness and outer journey of impactfulness through her work and life on an ongoing basis.

Certified Coach | Career Consultant | MBA holder from University of Pennsylvania (Wharton)

Atsuko's experience spans more than 10 years in marketing, leading multinational brands in consumer goods before becoming a coach.

As a coach, she is devoted to helping clients recognize and pursue their goals with purpose, both personally and professionally. She has worked with clients from various industries such as manufacturing, financial services, IT, and start-ups. She values creating a safe, supportive environment to produce on-going trust with the client.  Atsuko serves as the Chair of Programmes under the Executive Committee at APAC.

Vivian Xu Liang

Executive Coach | Professional Certified Coach (PCC) with the International Coaching Federation (ICF) |  Chair for Special Project under the Executive Committee at APAC | Active Theatrical Acting Practitioner

Vivian Xu Liang is an Executive Coach with over 15 years of management, business consulting, and entrepreneurship experience. Evolving from an IT leader to a McKinsey management consultant and ultimately an Executive coach, Vivian has been the driving force behind the growth and success of outstanding leaders, teams, and organizations across diverse roles. She has developed a holistic and systematic coaching approach that focuses on critical and compassionate thinking on the “why” the “what” the “how", clarity of mind and communication, and helping individuals achieve their full potential. Vivian's coaching journey has impacted leaders at every level, from front-line managers to CEOs and board members. Her clients span a wide variety of industries and functions.

Vivian Xu Liang holds an M.B.A. degree from INSEAD, with 3 months of exchanges at Wharton; a Master of Engineering with a concentration in Electronic & Telecommunication at CentraleSupelec, France; a Bachelor of Engineering with a concentration in Electronic Engineering at BUAA, China.

Vivian is a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) with the International Coaching Federation (ICF).  She serves as the Chair for Special Project under the Executive Committee at APAC.

Fun Fact: Vivian is an active theatrical acting practitioner.

Gillian Tan

Gillian Tan has over 30 years of professional experience as a C-suite business leader in the Foodservice Packaging, Food & Beverage equipment & Electronic & Electrical Packaging manufacturing Industry.  Serving global customers such as McDonald’s, KFC, Starbucks, Pepsi-Cola, Coca-Cola, Hewlett Packard, Brothers & Sony.

Her executive track record has produced exceptional bottom-line results in multi-million-dollar business units and had led both cultural and business transformation through building and developing leaders and talents.  She started Authentic & Intentional Coaching in 2020. As a certified Integral Executive & Life Coach, she helped senior leaders develop self-awareness and create positive leadership shift from inside-out.  She coached women leaders to level up and lead with an Executive Presence. She is a volunteer mentor for Junior Achievement (JA) & Asia Institute of Mentoring (AIM).  Currently, she serves as Honorary Secretary, an Executive Board Member and strategic core team for Asia Pacific Alliance of Coaches (APAC).  She is a Certified Trainer for Growth Mindset, certified Master Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Program (NLP) & graduated with an EMBA with University of Buffalo, New York in 2009.

Yen-Lu’s career spans nearly 40 years in the tech, media, venture capital, and more recently social entrepreneurship and philanthropy. A former Apple Distinguished Technologist, he is a successful entrepreneur with multiple tech start-ups and an active angel investor, spending many years mentoring and advising entrepreneurs, young businesses and serving on government panels on innovation. He served as a director of Business Angel Network SEA, executive mentor and adjunct professor to NUS Enterprise, mentor to INSEAD, numerous panels on entrepreneurship and innovation internationally, including IDA / SPRING, A*STAR, NRF, GMIC, NUS StartUp@Singapore, NUS Social Venture Competition, NTU Idea Inc, Thailand National Business Plan Competition, CrowdSourcing Week, etc. 

In a fast-paced world where the only constant is change, he believes there is an urgent need for each of us to draw on our strengths and creative potential as human beings, to connect with our higher self and our deeper purpose to contribute towards humanity in a positive and impactful way. He enjoys building ecosystems and mobilizing the community to create positive social change. As an early pioneer in the application of AI, he also has a strong base in the tech space. With the launch of his family foundation and other social impact initiatives, Yen-Lu devotes his time serving both society and the nation in his various capacities.

He is on a life mission to help bring about a kinder, gentler, more inclusive, more just, and sustainable world.
