Synopsis

From those supporting entrepreneurs, through business leaders, mid-career professionals, senior lawyers and clinicians mentoring the next generation, to peers offering support for impact in the community, mentors are as diverse as our mentees. Yet we can all agree that to be effective as a mentor:

  • Mentors’ vision of themselves is continuously growing: they are on a continuous quest to grow their own capability and capacity, to become a fuller version of themselves.

  • There is no ego: humanity and humility that people bring with them to their relationships gives mentoring its power.

  • It’s all about the other person: How can I help? How can I be of service?

So how to do this when we live in a world where diversity can now be acknowledged, and must be accommodated?

Jointly organized by AIM and NUS Enterprise, this Inclusive Mentoring Forum aims to kickstart a conversation amongst Singapore's mentoring community about how we can work effectively and ethically across gender, demographics, race, culture, socio-economics, neuro-diversity and state of mind - in organizations and in the community.

The forum is not about teaching any particular practice, framework or approach to mentoring. Rather it's about respectful and open sharing between experienced diverse mentors. Let's listen actively to each other and, together, map out a bigger picture of what works to create inclusive, bias-free mentorship environments that embrace diversity. You will hear inspiring real-world stories from experienced mentors and diversity advocates who have successfully navigated cultural and socio-economic boundaries to create meaningful, supportive relationships.

Bring your insights to share as much as to take away. This event is ideal for anyone who practices mentoring in Singapore, whether you are an entrepreneur, a professional, a freelancer, or someone whose work involves supporting others.
