MENTORING for PARENTS

There are different stages in the parenting process where parents need support.
How can you support parents with mentoring so that they are able to manage their parenting challenges?
Some say that “learning from the wisdom of those who have done it before is always a good way as long as it is not your own parents!”
What are the best ways to mentor parents?
How can parents be supported better with mentoring? These are some of the questions we will be discussing with you in this interactive session.

Facilitators: Yen-Lu Chow and Gillian Tan

                   

Gillian Tan has over 30 years of Corporate experience and was President of a Business unit for Berskhire Hathaway - Marmon Group managing APAC with over 300 employees, 2 manufacturing and R&D in China and India. She has since been consulting for SME owners providing strategic vision/direction and coaching/mentoring team towards structural and measurable goals and building team cohesive. She is a culture transformation leader and a strong believer of collaboration. Recently, she has been involved in leading a team to achieve Singapore zero waste goal by 2024. Gillian is a certified coach with clients of senior leaders and middle management on leadership, self-discovery, relationship building and career transitions.

Yen-Lu Chow is Executive Chairman, WholeTree Foundation; Co-Founder and Director, Asia Institute of Mentoring; Chairman, Singapore Creations; Founding Partner, Fatfish MediaLab; Executive Mentor, YSI SEA; and founder of the Deep Human Movement. Yen-Lu is a former Apple Distinguished Technologist, serial entrepreneur, angel investor, mentor and advisor, social innovator, and humanist.
With the launch of his family foundation and other social impact initiatives, Yen-Lu devotes his time serving both society and the nation in his various capacities. He is on a life mission to help bring about a kinder, gentler, more inclusive, more just, and sustainable world.

About Learning Circle 

Held on the first Wednesday of the month, Learning Circle Series are peer-learning sessions are conducted by the Asia Institute of Mentoring (AIM). They are small group facilitated meetings where we encourage sharing and draw upon the wisdom of our mentoring community. New mentors, mentees, (aspiring-mentors) and non-mentors are all welcome to join to discuss about trending Mentoring topics and to network with our community members.
